Donny Van Slee Wears His Heart on His Sleeve with Debut Album, ’31’ [Premiere]

As the first quarter of 2024 is quickly coming to an end, it appears all is coming together perfectly for Donny Van Slee.

Once a chiropractic student intent on opening his own practice, the Florida native packed his bags and headed for Nashville in pursuit of his country music dreams. Now, those dreams are becoming a reality. Van Slee is set to release his debut album, 31, tomorrow, and recently teased that he auditioned for NBC’s The Voice as well. As a treat to his fans, Van Slee is allowing up to premiere 31 a day early!

Comprised of 10 songs written or co-written by Van Slee, 31 captures the emotions of moving away from The Sunshine State to Music City, all wrapped in a folk-country bow that sets his lyrics at the forefront.

Van Slee shares, “The album is a combination of songs that address my mental state of being hundreds of miles away from home. I’ve sacrificed a lot of time away from my family. Blood, sweat and tears. I’m also putting a complete hold on opening my own chiropractic office to pursue a music career in Nashville. While in chiropractor school, I never would have thought I would end up three years later in Nashville, releasing a whole album of songs. It’s funny how life unfolds when you allow it to take you by the hand. This album also sheds light on the good things in life that are worth living for. There’s always going to be those days that just suck. But there will also be those days that make all the hard work and sacrifices worth it. I hope this album brings joy, laughter, and a sense of belonging as a reminder that we all experience similar emotions through different situations. I want to encourage everyone to keep going and to never give up on themselves. And no matter how tough it gets, there’s always someone to reach out to.”
