2025 is off to a hot start with so much great music released so far. At the halfway point of the year, here are our favorites so far!
Half of It- Jacob Jones
A textbook definition of a singalong chorus. Tailor made for windows down driving.
Easy Does It- Emily Ann Roberts
Emily Ann Roberts is a master with wordplay and turns of phrase, showcased perfectly on this beautiful love song.
Two Steppin’- Charlie McCabe
Try not to start two-steppin’ along with this one. Impossible.
The Way She Lies- Spencer Hatcher
“The Way She Lies” sounds like it came straight from a smoke-filled bar, in the best possible way.
For Cryin’ Out Loud- Maddie Lenhart
Maddie Lenhart was one of our favorite discoveries this year, and she penned a heartbreaking gem with “For Cryin’ Out Loud.”
Holy Smokes- Jenna LaMaster
Everything about this song sounds timeless. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Almost, So Close, So Long, Goodbye- Walker Montgomery
The epitome of a honky tonkin’ good time.
The Heart to Hurt Her- Dustin Sonnier
Dustin Sonnier’s return was a very welcome one, and he did it in a big way.
Don’t Do a Cowboy Like That- Justin Bizzle
Sounds like it could’ve landed on a classic Mark Chesnutt album. What a way to start Bizzle’s fantastic debut album.
Girlfriend’s Got a Boyfriend- Cole Goodwin
Twanging telecasters, loads of steel guitar and a healthy does of fiddle along with Goodwin’s rock-sold vocal. What more could you want?
Cheatin’ on My Honky Tonk- Randall King & Braxton Keith
Two Texas troubadours team up for a fun, Texas-sized duet.
In Lieu of Flowers- Bryce Leatherwood & Walker Montgomery
Two of the strongest traditional voices singing on the same song. Count us in.
Worth the Trouble- Chandler Walters
Walters’ debut single came in the form of this toe-tapping, western swing tune. So, so good.
Not Like I Used To- Jake Worthington
If you’re looking for a sad country tune, the search should stop and end with Jake Worthington.
Bluegrass on My Mind- Tyler Booth
The sparse production puts Booth’s rock-solid vocal at the forefront of a song about reconnecting with his Bluegrass State roots.
The Prophet- Jenna Paulette & Ashley McBryde
We loved this one when Paulette released it late last year, but adding Ashley McBryde’s tender, smooth duet vocals was a welcome addition.
