There’s a lot of fun things to do on Broadway in Music City. One of them, as it turns out, is getting friends together and filming a music video. That’s exactly what Reed Foley did for his newest single, “Beer Needs Drinkin’.” What better way to celebrate your first single release in three years?
Admittedly, Foley expected the impromptu video shoot to be shut down by Nashville police. Luckily for him (and us), that wasn’t the case, and the music video went off without a hitch. As proof, we’re happy to premiere it for you today!
“We were really nervous about filming this for several reasons. It was a complete guerrilla-style video, and I was 99% convinced we were going to get stopped by the police at some point for having a keg of beer in a cart and running up and down Broadway with it,” says Foley. “Thankfully they never stopped us and we were able to film the whole thing in under four hours. The video needed to match the song and I think we captured that.”
The single, which has already earned over 20,000 Spotify streams within a week of its release, captures Foley with what he feels is the truest representation of himself as an artist that he’s offered so far.
“This song means more to me career-wise than people know. It’s my first release in three years and it’s the first time I’ve ever felt like It’s 100% authentic to who I am,” says Foley. “The past week it’s been doing better than I ever imagined and I can’t wait for this video to bring it to life in a new way.”
