If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we hold a special place in our hearts for a good ol’ sad song. Lying, cheating, hurting, drinking songs are integral to the history of country music, and when a good one comes along, we’re happy to spread the word about it.
Dusty Leigh Huston and Dave Nudo have proven themselves to be clingers to sad ol’ songs with their forthcoming single, “Cold Side of the Bed.” Set for release on November 10th, the duo allowed us to hear the song early!
Huston and Nudo’s voices are no strangers to each other, as the pair combined for “Like You Were Forbidden” in 2019. The duo’s newest effort, a steel soaked, smoky bar waltz that examines a flame that burned out, comes equipped with a haunting opening acoustic lick, a showstopping steel solo and impressive harmonies that prove sad, traditional country ballads are still alive and well.
