The best music videos, in our opinion, are the ones that add a new dimension to a song; videos that expand upon the story of a song or present it in a unique way.
With the release of their new music video, “If I Could Pick A Way To Go,” which serves as the album closer on their newest effort, Memphis to Mexico, The Comancheros did exactly that: flashing between time periods showcasing their older selves reminiscing on a hard-partying, high energy performance in present day. Set for release tomorrow, we’re happy to premiere the video a day early!
The band, which has landed opening slots for Alabama, Randy Rogers and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others, says the song was spawned from a night of reflection and an undying love of music.
“At the point in my life when the song was written, I was thinking a lot about mortality,” says guitarist Tanner Jones. “I’d lost a family member that I was very close to, and all the Covid buzz was still in the air. I asked myself how I would choose to die if I got the choice; well, In a blaze of glory, of course, on stage doing what I love most.”
