Blaire Elbert Kicks Off New Chapter with “You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy”

From the moment her blind audition on The Voice began, it was evident that Blaire Elbert has a deep love for traditional country music.

Elbert took the stage with “Wide Rolling Plains,” a song she’d been singing for most of her life, eventually earning a chair turn from coach Kelly Clarkson.

As her time on the show came to an end, Elbert released a studio version of the Rosalie Allen classic.

“I was so excited to release my studio version of ‘Wide Rolling Plains,’ because not only is it the perfect time stamp to remember my time on The Voice, it’s a song I have grown up performing since I was a little girl in West Texas,” says Elbert. “It has truly become a special part of my story as an artist.”

Kicking off her post-Voice chapter, Elbert is keeping it country with her new single, “You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy.”

“’You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy’ felt like the perfect follow up and the entering of a new era for my music. I’m leaning more into the traditional country sound that I grew up listening to. The fiddle solo in this song reminds me of some of those early songs by The Chicks that I grew up loving, and the master was even heavily influenced by one of my favorite Cody Johnson songs, ‘Watching My Old Flame,’” says Elbert. “This song takes me back to that true country sound: deep storytelling, raw emotion and the kind of country that just feels like home. ‘You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy’ really bridges the gap between where I started and where I’m going next as an artist. I knew the moment we cut it that it had to kickoff this new chapter.”

Elbert admits that she knew the song’s potential as soon as she finished it with her co-writers, Andrew Peebles and Josh David.

“I knew there was something special about this song since the day I met up with Josh and Andrew to write it! Josh and I had written together before, but this was my first time getting to write with Andrew! If I remember correctly, Andrew had pitched the hook ‘You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy,’ and we were quick to agree that this was the story we wanted to tell. The lyrics and melody came together pretty quickly, and once we were done writing, we knew this song needed to go somewhere,” says Elbert. “When it came time for me to get back in the studio, I told the guys I would love to record this as one of my new singles, and they were so excited to see our song come to life. On the day that I went in to cut it, we could all feel the country magic happening in the room. I’m so thankful for Josh, Andrew, and all of the incredibly talented people who helped bring this song together.”

Though she doesn’t have the specifics yet, Elbert has a host of music planned after “You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy.”

“I’ve spent a lot of time songwriting over the past couple years, and have been writing songs I absolutely love. Following my time on The Voice, I knew I wanted to hit the ground running with new music, and the release of ‘You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy’ is only the beginning of what’s to come!” says Elbert. “I have a few more releases lined up for the rest of 2026, and I’m so happy to say that these are some of my favorite songs yet! I don’t have exact dates locked in just yet, but I promise I won’t keep y’all waiting too long between tracks. Be on the lookout for my next song later in the summer, as we’re putting the finishing touches on it now! It’s gonna be a fun one!”

Along with staying busy in the studio, Elbert plans to stay busy on the road, as well.

“Along with new songs being released, I am already planning on getting back in the studio here very soon to continue getting out new music to you guys!” says Elbert. “I’ll also be doing some more traveling with my band over the next couple months and taking my show on the road! 2026 is all about new music and live shows, and I can’t wait to see everyone out there!”

One of Elbert’s recent shows saw her open for country icon Sara Evans.

“Opening up for Sara Evans has been one of my favorite shows yet! Sara and everyone on her team were so sweet and great to work with. I was so happy to have some of my family and friends come to Georgia to watch the show and celebrate with me after as well! As a woman in country, it was so inspiring to see Sara perform; someone who has had so much success in the industry that I have looked up to since I was a little girl!” says Elbert. “The venue, the crowd and the whole night were absolutely perfect! Opening for Sara is definitely a night I will never forget, and I feel so blessed to have gotten that opportunity to share her stage.”

Additional Notes from Blaire:

– Fun Fact about “You Ain’t Loved A Cowboy:” After we wrote the song, it apparently made its way up the ladder to Carly Pearce, who loved it.
