Stephanie Nash is proud of where she came from, the way she was raised and the path she has taken, and she’s not afraid to say it. The California native, Nashville living singer/songwriter has been a massive flag flyer for agriculture and its community some time, and with her newest single, “Raised On,” she’s given an anthem to farmers and ranchers around the world.
Nash delivers an emotionally twangy vocal on her newest single, which she says she hopes offers hope for farmers and the way of life they have chosen. She even admits to “[trying] the big city living’ dream,” but coming right back. Her roots run deep, and they bleed into “Raised On.”
We caught up with Nash to talk all about “Raised On,” staying true to her sound, new music and more!

Pro Country: Your 2021 single, “Foolin’ Around” has earned well over 200,000 streams since its release. How validating is it to be able to tangibly see the success the song has had?
Stephanie Nash: “Foolin’ Around” has been an amazing single. I am so proud that the fans fell in love with that song, and it’s crazy to think it is my biggest release yet.
PC: Why did you feel that your new single, “Raised On,” was the right song to open 2022 with and serve as your next radio single?
SN: With all my advocacy for agriculture, I knew I wanted a single that defined who I am and what I stand for. I truly believe once people see the music video and hear more behind the lyrics, they will understand it’s purpose.
PC: You solo-wrote “Raised On” about your life in agriculture. Can you take us in the room and talk about the inspiration behind the song?
SN: Growing up on a dairy farm, I was always seen different. Just because I chose agriculture as a career didn’t make me any less than those that chose another. Women and little girls are allowed to succeed in any path they choose, and for me, that was being a dairy farmer. I saw the importance to feed the world and share my story with those willing to listen.
PC: Given that agriculture is such a major part of your life, can you talk to us about what “Raised On” means to you?
SN: “Raised On” is hope for those farmers and ranchers across the world. The true love, sacrifice and dedication they bring to our industry.
PC: “Raised On” expands on your country-rocking sound and fills more of a straight forward country lane. Is it at all important for you to keep in touch with both of those sounds and have a certain level of sonic versatility?
SN: I am 100% with keeping my sound unique and true to my roots. Everyone can write country music, but it’s different when you live that lifestyle. The long hours, harvest season, struggling to keep our land; I’ve been through it. The music just takes me to another place.
PC: You’ve mentioned that you have plans for more new music. What information, if any, can you give about your upcoming releases? What can listeners expect to hear?
SN: Summer song 2022. Keeping it classic country and bringing in some old time twang. Super excited for what is to come.

PC: As someone who was born and raised in central California, what has it been like for you to be present in Tennessee from both an agricultural and musical perspective?
SN: Coming from central California, is not much different. Not many people know that the valley is the largest agriculture county in the USA. The biggest difference is having cities in your state that actually care about rural. Larger cities that control states will never understand their food supply, so being in Tennessee and having people care about our story is humbling. I’m creating a strong community that will back our farmers & ranchers here in Tennessee, and I pray across the world.
PC: What do you have planned for the rest of 2022?
SN: Keep writing music. Building my platform to be a strong voice for agriculture and use my story to be the change this country needs. Everyone deserves to have amazing country music and an artist that truly is passionate about the songs she is releasing. I’m blessed to be a part of this Texas music organization.
